Is there a report to see the statistics of my users and projects?

Of course, there is a statistics panel in our console and we also send a report via e-mail: weekly, fortnightly and/or monthly with information on registrations, cancellations, impacts, campaigns sent, among others.

Can I integrate several domains/subdomains in the same iurny project?

Yes, you can enable the multidomain option for each project created and thus integrate the same iurny project in several domains and/or subdomains.

*Recommendation: segment users using tools such as interest groups to avoid massively impacting users from one domain or another.

I don’t receive the reports in my email, what can I do?

This report is sent via e-mail to the users who are configured in the section Configuration –> Choose the project –> Edit –> Reports. If you are not in this list, any project administrator can add you.

On the other hand, if no notification has been sent during this time, the report will not be created.

What are the essential requirements to integrate iurny into my website?

There are 3 basic requirements for iurny to work:

To have the two integration javascripts of our WEB Push SDK hosted in the indicated paths (in bold underlined) that are put in the script, and to include the correct appKey (in bold, underlined and italic) in each case. For the case of integration by snippet of Javascript code directly on the site:

More detailed information in our documentation depending on the integration method you choose.

Does iurny store or use any of my users?

No, each user is associated with a unique identifier generated by our SDK, so iurny does not access or store each user’s confidential information.

Does my website need to meet any mandatory requirements to integrate iurny?

Yes, in order to integrate iurny the website must comply with the following requirements:

  • It must have the https security protocol.
  • It must have a valid SSL certificate (it must not be self-signed).

What is the difference between ‘Scheduled’ and ‘Best Time’ delivery?

In the ‘Scheduled’ delivery you must choose the day and time of delivery. However, in the ‘Best time’ model, it will be our Machine Learning algorithm that chooses the launch according to the device opening statistics it manages.

What are Web Push Notifications?

We refer to “web push notifications” when we talk about notifications for web pages or websites.

Why should I use Web Push Notifications and what are their advantages?

It is not necessary for the user to have an application installed, accessing the web page and accepting to receive notifications is enough. If used with the right strategy, they can produce a great increase in conversions and sales for your business.

What are APP Notifications?

We refer to “APP notifications” when we talk about push notifications for mobile applications.

My notifications don’t rank first on iOS, what can I do?

iOS notifications are handled by the operating system, i.e. you cannot prioritise them.

Do our website users need to be inside the browser to receive the Web Push Notification?

No, but in browsers like Firefox (desktop version) they need to open the browser after starting the operating system to start receiving web push notifications since Firefox does not start in the background.

Do we need an application to receive web push notifications?

No, by simply accessing your website and accepting the notification permission, users can receive web push notifications.

I can’t access the iurny panel or console with my credentials. How can I do it?

From iurny we recommend recovering the password by accessing this link and entering the email in question. An email will be sent automatically with the steps to follow to recover the password.

Do Web Notifications work in Internet Explorer?

No, Internet Explorer does not support web notifications as they are not developed by Microsoft for this browser.

Which platforms support receiving notifications?

For APP notifications: Android and iOS. For web notifications Safari and all browsers that support the standard notifications API such as Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Samsung Browser and Edge.

Do I have to run Safari alongside other browsers at the same time?

No, you can run browsers such as Chrome, Edge or Firefox and then run Safari. If any problems arise, we recommend generating a Safari certificate for websites.

Do Web Push for Safari work on iOS?

No, “Web Push” notifications are not supported in Safari as these types of notifications are not supported on iOS.

How can I integrate iurny into my website?

Integrating iurny in WEB Push is very simple and intuitive. Here are 3 simple steps that we explain by inserting JavaScript code:

1) Create an iurny project:

  • If you are not registered, you can do it for free at this link. Once you have created your account, our console offers you the opportunity to create your project. In any case you can create, modify or delete projects from the console

2) Download the 2 files of our SDK from our repository and upload them to your website server in the root. Download files.

3) Add the initialization script in all the URL’s where you want to ask for notification permissions in your WEB site:

*Remember that you can see your App Key when you create the project in the iurny console.

For more details you can check this link.

How to get the DeviceId in APP Push?

To get the DeviceId the client must add a call to our method inside the code of his APP depending on the SDK that is integrated:

Android: See Method.

iOS: See Method.

Xamarin: See Method.

Cordova: See Method.

*We suggest enabling a hidden option in the APP itself (as an “easter egg”) where, when executed, it shows the DeviceId to the user.

How can I get the DeviceId in Web Push?

iurny generates the DeviceId, once you have accepted the notification permission of the website.

This DeviceId can be obtained in two ways, one method focused on generic users and another focused on developers:

  • Generic user

Within the WEB browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge…) where you have registered, open the WEB console on the corresponding site. The following image shows how to do it from Chrome:

Once the console is open, click on the “Application” tab and locate the “Local Storage”:

Finally, we filter by the word “device_id” and in the “value” field we will find said Device_Id which we can copy and paste by double clicking on the value:

  • If you are a developer:

You can use one of our SDK methods to get the DeviceId and implement it on the site if necessary. To do it locally: in the web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge…) where you have registered, open the WEB console on the corresponding site.

For more information you can consult this link

For WEB Push on Android devices you must follow the same steps as indicated in this section, but first you must connect the mobile to the PC and use the Chrome remote device management link (only applies to Chrome): chrome://inspect/#devices. Make sure you have your device in developer mode enabled.

The iurny SDK does not show the notification permission in the mobile browser. What can I do?

You can check if both your browser and browser version are within our supported platforms. Also, you can check in your phone settings: settings -> notifications and check if they are enabled.

How can I disable a device?

Our SDK has methods to enable and disable your device whenever you want.

– For web follow this link and choose Javascript or Tag Manager.

– For app, you must choose your mobile operating system, go to section 3 “Manage device” -> enable/disable device. Click on the following link.

Which mobile operating system versions are supported by the iurny SDK?

The minimum supported version for Android is 4.1 (SDK 16) and for iOS 8.4. On iOS, you will not be able to receive photos on versions lower than iOS 10.

Can I upload GIF files to my campaigns?

The playback of GIF files is not currently compatible with Push Notifications. However, through our console you can generate your own GIF by uploading a maximum of 3 images (PNG, JPEG, among others) which will be played in the end user’s push simulating a GIF file (only applies to App Push).

What video formats are supported for uploading to my campaigns and what is the maximum size? (Only APP Push – iOS)

Upload your videos and iurny will take care of transforming most of the existing formats into compatible formats for iOS, including the most popular ones such as:

WMV.

AVI.

FLV.

MOV.

MP4.

3gp.

*We recommend MP4 as a suggested format.

*Maximum size is 15 MB.

If I schedule a notification, what time zone will it take into account for sending?

The sending time will be the one configured in the time zone of the browser from which you are scheduling the sending.

I want to send personalised campaigns to each user, is this possible?

Yes, when creating the campaign we can add variables that are sent from your website or APP to our backend or uploading a CSV file with the desired variables per user (previous association in your website or APP from user to variable), then through the assignment of these variables through our console we can customize the campaign per user. In this section of our documentation you will find more information about it.

What are APP push / WEB push campaigns for?

They are campaigns that are automatically executed when a user enters a specific route of your website or your APP, which can be executed as a Pop-Up or as a Banner depending on how you configure it.

They show relevant last minute information or some kind of promotion that you want to offer to your users and can add content such as text, images and even redirect the user to an APP or URL.

Why does it tell me that “the test does not meet the smart submission requirements”?

In order for the Smart Test algorithm to correctly select the version of the campaign with the highest click-through rate, it must be sent for a minimum time and a minimum number of devices. If it is not possible to perform the Smart Test, we recommend a test with manual sending.

When do my users receive notifications with Smart Sending in A/B tests?

If the device meets the filter conditions, you will receive one of the versions within a week of activating the campaign. The Smart Test randomly selects the device by choosing the version that has the highest conversion rate up to that moment. We recommend at least a two-day interval to optimise that the highest converting version is the one that will receive the most users.

What is a Retargeting Campaign and what is it for?

A retargeting campaign is a form of automated campaign sending that consists of automatically sending a customisable notification to the client when the user of our WEB or APP executes a certain action.

Some common examples of actions are closing the sale of the browser or WEB in a specific route of our site, visit a specific route of our site, abandonment of a process left halfway such as abandonment of a shopping cart with products entered; among others.

In this section of our documentation you can find more information about this type of campaigns and the call to our methods you can find them for WEB Push and for APP Push Android and iOS.

What is the difference between geofencing and area filters?

Geofencing is a form of automatic campaign delivery available only for APP Push whereby a campaign can be sent when a device with the client’s APP installed enters or leaves a certain area (defined by the client).

On the other hand, filters with area are often used to impact users who are at the time of sending in the areas configured by the customer, these filters can be executed in WEB Push and APP Push campaigns.

I am not receiving geolocated notifications, how can I fix this?

Check that geolocation on your device is activated and that you have granted the location permissions. Open the APP and look for the “log” corresponding to “New Location: {coordinates}”, inside you can modify the location and if it is significant. Significant location changes occur when the device moves more than 500 metres on iOS (Apple indicates this parameter) and more than 100 metres on Android from the last known location.

Can I send an already created message template from the console using the API?

No, we do not currently support templates.

I want to test by making API endpoint calls, how can I do this?

Our Endpoints are available to make API calls either through Swagger or with third party applications.

How can I request permissions in Safari?

Safari does not allow permissions to be displayed without previously linking an action by the user, this action can be executed on a button that we can generate on our site.

In addition, Apple requires as a prerequisite the generation of a .p12 certificate to impact with push notifications, in this link you will find the steps to generate the certificate in Safari and in this link, how to upload them to iurny.

*Remember that the additional steps for Safari integration is optional and does not limit other browsers that do not require this type of certificate.

Is it mandatory to request localisation permissions for my users?

No, location permissions are optional. We do not request localisation permissions only if you indicate it in our SDK configuration (you can see how in the “Advanced Settings” section of our documentation in the corresponding SDK).

If you disable location permissions, you will not be able to use features of our service such as geofencing or segmentation of campaign sends by area.

What is the “APP Key” of my project?

The APP Key is a string of characters unique to each project that identifies each one of them, in this way, by pointing via code to this identifier we differentiate between the different existing environments if applicable (development and production).

How do I test in the development environment without affecting production users?

The “AppKey” of the development environment and the production environment are usually different, to avoid that production users receive notifications created in development, for this reason, the tests that are carried out in development have no risk. On the other hand, you can also filter the sending of a campaign through our panel, using the “DeviceID” by creating and uploading to our console a .csv file containing the identifiers (ID) of the devices to which you want to send the notification.

How do I test in production without affecting the users?

This type of tests are very delicate, making a mistake can cause our notifications to reach real users. Therefore, we recommend that when testing in production you can send notifications by geolocation (filters by area) or add filters by device (device ID).

How can I segment the users who visit my website or my APP?

By means of interest groups or “topics” we can segment each of our users so that they subscribe either automatically when they visit a specific section of the APP or the website or through a notification panel where each user chooses where to subscribe or unsubscribe.

Through this tool we can decide which group or groups of interest we are going to impact by fulfilling the filter function.

These interest groups can be created through our console by assigning a name and a simple code that will then be used in the code of our APP or WEB through a call to a method that we offer. In the documentation you can find more information related to interest groups and their creation.

Do I have to define Interest Groups or Topics before going to Production?

No, you don’t. You can start using iurny with the basic integration and later develop more complex cases.

Is it possible to try iurny for free?

Yes, there is a free plan that allows you to send free pushes without adding bank details up to 30,000 devices without permanence. In the rest of the plans you have one month free to try our service. You can find them in the pricing section.
